Creativity is not a state of being; it is a state of mind. Yes, you may be more creative whether due to nature or nurture, but imaginative thinking is just about connecting the dots. I remember my brother and I as kids being obsessed with coming up with new inventions and then of course feeling disappointed when we found out our genius was already out there in the world. Although we never successfully came up with a new invention, we were practicing our right-brained functions and exploring the art of creativity.
We may naturally gravitate towards a certain way of thinking, but our brains have the incredible capabilities to process information using both the right and left hemispheres of the brain. The left side of the brain is associated with logic, analysis, mathematics, facts, and words, while the right side of the brain is linked to creativity, imagination, intuition, arts, feelings, visualization, and rhythm.
