It's so easy to focus on who you aren't, what you lack, and why we are so different. Which is what I did quite a bit during my adolescent years, as many young girls do. However, now I see you in a whole different light (especially after putting up with me during my rebellious and bratty years). After all, you have always seen the best in me even when I didn't see it in myself. So now, instead of focusing on the negatives, I choose to see the positives. I guess the change between now and then is that I respect our differences and embrace our similarities.
Yes, You will always be more logical, realistic, and practical as opposed to my creative, idealistic, and dreaming ways. You are the right brain to my left and although I fought it for many years I have grown to appreciate and see our relationship through wider and more curious eyes. On the contrary, I have always admired how well you balance hard work with relaxation such as spending countless hours on the couch watching Hallmark movie marathons. I strive to find such a balance in my life through your guidance. You have also taught me the importance of patience and compassion for everyone and everything. Throughout our years of family travel with the help of your United Airlines benefits, I grew up respecting various cultures, religions, customs, and traditions. Most importantly of all, you taught me how to love myself. So, thank you for loving, guiding, and accepting all of me. If it weren't for you I wouldn't be me.
Hi, I'm Lauren. I love to travel, experience different cultures, and meet interesting people, so naturally I combined those two passions to teach yoga and lead retreats and workshops around the world. I love being outdoors, cuddling with my dog, hot tea, and engaging in conversation, This is my space to share my latest thoughts.
